I am going to WDW in June. I was recently diagnosed with a rare nerve disorder where the nerves in my legs and feet constantly send pain signals to my brain. Can I bring my own wheelchair into the park or do I have to use a WDW wheelchair?

    Hello, Jessica!

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own wheelchair to use while touring the Walt Disney World Resort.

If you choose, Wheelchair Rentals are available in all four theme parks, Downtown Disney and Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. Keep in mind that there are limited quantities, available on a first-come, first-served basis and reservations are not accepted. It's also important to note that a rented wheelchair must remain in the park in which it was rented. So, this may not be the best option if you plan to park hop or explore resort hotels.

You may want to consider renting a wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicles(ECV) from a Disney featured provider. You will have more flexibility in touring with this option. My mom has had great experiences using Buena Vista Scooter Rentals. They offer a variety of  models and even deliver (and pick up) the unit at your Resort Hotel Bell Services. You can find a list of Disney featured providers at the bottom of the above-linked page.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your planning question.  Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Have a magical day!
