I am going to WDW with my husband and parents in 3 months. My father had a heart attack 3 days ago. We are still planning on going but need help choosing menu items that are low fat and low sodium. We are on the quick service dining plan. Please help.

    HI Karen,

First, I want to say I'm so sorry to hear about your father. My mom also had a heart attack prior to our trip to Walt Disney World, so I can understand your situation.

For my Mom, what helped was renting an ECV to help her get around the parks and take it easy. We also were able fo find several healthy dining options to help her stick to her healthy eating plan.

There are so many wonderful options for eating healthy while at Walt Disney World.

A few of my favorites include:

    Magic Kingdom
Aloha Isle offers fresh cut pineapple spears, which make for a great, healthy snack
Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrwland offers rotisserie chicken and a chicken garden salad
Columbia Harbour House has vegetarian chili

Sunshine Seasons in "The Land" offers many healthy choices, including seared tuna on mixed greens, grilled salmon and salads
Yakitori House in Japan has a chicken ginger salad

    Hollywood Studios
    Anaheim produce has fresh fruit
Flatbread Grill has grilled chicken with black beans and rice

    Animal Kingdom
Tamu Tamu Refreshments has a fruit smoothie with no added sugar
Pizzafari has a chicken caesar salad

I hope you have a magical visit. Please wish your father a quick recovery and positive thoughts from the Moms Panel.
