WDW was a huge part of my childhood & I can't wait to take DS. He loves the movies & is big for his age, 39" tall at 2 yrs 2 mo. We can't decide if he's old enough to go this fall or if we should wait until next yr. Do you think he'd "get

    Hi Merideth,

I am assuming that the end of your question (that got cut off) was that "he'd get it". I would say that Walt Disney World is for anyone. This is a huge topic for debate as some families wait to take their kids until they are "old enough" to remember it. I can understand this philosophy, but sometimes taking the really little kids is great for the parents from a cost standpoint as well as being able to watch the innocent wonder and delight in their eyes. The child may not be able to remember a whole lot, but as a parent watching, those memories will last forever with you.

I took my son for the first time when he was almost four, then my daughter's first trip was at two and a half, but my youngest son was only six months old. So, as you can see, with each child I have taken them younger and younger. I think there would be so much for him to do despite his height. Most of the appropriate rides for his age wouldn't require a height minimum, so you would be fine either way!

My biggest tip for families taking younger kids is to follow their lead, to some degree. Don't feel like you have to run around trying to take in every single attraction. They are going to get tired and when they do, rest, whether it be in a stroller while you take in a parade or snack while strolling around the parks or taking a ride on the monorail for a few laps. You can also go back to your resort for a nap and then come back to the parks rejuvenated for more fun.

I personally think he'll have a great time and there will be plenty of things that he will "get" and you will enjoy the memories of sharing something from your childhood with him. But, whatever you decide to be the best decision for your family, have a pixie dusted vacation, whenever you decide to go!
