Going to wdw with my friend and her three kids 6 8 15 Su-tu, not going to any parks but staying at ASsports. what can we do: thinking pools, downtown disney, anything special going on 7\6-8 without going into a park? also got free MM how do we get this?

    Hello Heidi,

Disney World is a huge place. There is plenty to do at Walt Disney World without going into a theme park. Some suggestions are:

    - Mini golf at WinterSummerland or Fantasia Gardens
    - Water parks
    - Shopping and dining at Downtown Disney
    - Playing arcade games at DisneyQuest
    - Bowling at Downtown Disney's Splitsville
    - Movie at Downtown Disney
    - Splashing at your hotel pool
    - Character meals in the resorts
    - Free Chip & Dale singalong at Fort Wilderness
    - Rent a surrey bike on the Boardwalk
    - Boating, parasailing, or waterskiing on Bay Lake
    - Pick A Pearl at Downtown Disney or the Beach Club.

For more ideas, check out a list of 101 things to do at Disney without going into the parks from the independent website (cut/paste into your browser):

I don't know of any special activities on July 6-8. Most of the Independence Day events are being held on July 3-4. This is actually good news for you because the crowd level will be slightly lower than the few days prior.

You can link your Memory Maker to your MagicBand using the website, or the front desk of your hotel can help you with this when you check in. You can all visit Will Call at the Guest Relations office at Downtown Disney. Unfortunately there won't be too many opportunities for you to get MM photos without going into the parks. You could get some if you visit a character meal that has a photographer (Chef Mickey's for example), but most of the photographers are located in the parks.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
