We are going to WDW 4/09 for our first trip with our 2 sons. Made reservations at the Wilderness Lodge Villas but saw some pictures recently that made the rooms look "tired" and out of date. Is it worth the money over Doubletree Suites?

The Wilderness Lodge Villas are my Disney Vacation Club home resort. I've stayed there many times. I've never felt that anything was amiss at the WL.This resort has my favorite themeing in all of WDW as well as two of my favorite WDW restaurants. The grounds are lovely too. My family has had great fun exploring the path between the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness both on foot and by bike. The last time we were there, we saw a family of live deer grazing just steps from the main path.

As for the "worth it" question, that's something I always have trouble answering for guests I don't know personally, as I don't know what your individual priorities are. If money is your main concern, then you're often going to come out ahead if you stay off-site. (Though this may not be the case when you consider some of the great deals Disney is currently offering.) However, I think the perks of staying on property are so great, that it would almost never be worth it to me to stay at a non-Disney hotel.

One of the chief benefits is the ability to get into the theme parks early and stay late during park Extra Magic Hours. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. WDW resort guests also have:

    - Use of the free Magical Express bus service to/from the Orlando airport

    - The ability to participate in the Disney Dining Plan, a discounted meal program

    - Use of the free WDW transportation system to/from your hotel to the theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney

    - Use of the WDW childcare centers

    - Free parking at the theme parks

Plus, at the Disney resorts you get the incredible themeing and attention to detail, as well as the opportunity to interact with amazing Disney cast members who always go out of their way to give guests a great experience.
