Going to WDW 4/20 (Easter) with the grandchildren (7, 5, and 2 1/2 - first visit). Is it possible to see most things in one day in each park? Should we plan on two days for MK and HS? Might skip EPCOT. What experiences should we definitely do? Thanks

    Hi Mary!

Thanks for your question. What an awesome Grandmom to take her grandkids to Disney World! Plus, with this being their first visit, you get our honorary Grandmother of the Year award! :-)

Easter is a great time to visit Disney. The weather isn't as balmy as Summertime, however, that generally will be Spring Break for a number of U.S. schools, so it can get extra busy..

If you start right at park opening, my family (a family of 4) was able to do Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot in one day each, if we planned things out significantly beforehand. This included making as many FastPass+ selections for each park as we could, making early dining reservations, and even looking at the theme park map beforehand to strategize how quickly we can get to which areas of each park.

Magic Kingdom is a different story altogether. To really enjoy Magic Kingdom (i.e. attractions, dining, parades, fireworks, shopping, etc.), it generally takes our family 2 full days to get the full magical experience of Magic Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is the largest of the 4 parks size-wise, but as you travel between countries, there is significant walking without, say, attractions at each turn. Magic Kingdom, however, seems to have so many myriad experiences just within feet of each other, it's hard to capture it all in just one day.

At their age, before this year, I would've said if you were to skip one theme park, it would've been Hollywood Studios. Now, with all the incredible Star Wars attractions opening, and those scheduled to soon open, it's hard to skip Hollywood Studios, particularly if your grandkids are big Star Wars fans.

Disney has a list of attractions specific to age interests, be sure to go to this page and under "Age Interest," select Toddlers and Kids.

Some MUST Do's for your grankids:

    Magic Kingdom
    *The Barnstormer
    *Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
    *"it's a small world"
    *Mickey's PhilharMagic

    Hollywood Studios
    *Muppet Vision 3D
    *Slinky Dog Dash
    *Star Tours-The Adventure Continue
    *Toy Story Mania!

    Animal Kingdom
    *Affection Section
    *The Boneyard
    *Kilimanjaro Safaris

There's so much more to do, but hopefully this'll give you just a small sample.

Enjoy your Easter trip to Disney World!
