Mom And Son On Run

I am going to WDW during their rainy season. What are a few things that we can do in case we get rained out for a few hours. The children are 5, 8, 14, 13

The most difficult park to tour in the rain is the Animal Kingdom. We were once there during a soaking rain in December and despite our ponchos we were drenched. It didn’t take us long to determine that there are not many indoor activities at the Animal Kingdom.

Epcot is a great place to go on a rainy day. Even the queues for the rides in Future World are indoors. It’s a great time to let the kids explore Innoventions. They can play games, build a robot and participate in many activities. Visiting the indoor KidCot stations is a good activity as well.

It’s a good time to see indoor shows that you may have skipped over when touring in the sunshine.

Downtown Disney is a good place to explore during rain as you can quickly walk between shops. The World of Disney store should keep everyone busy or venture over to DisneyQuest. Yes there is a movie theater here too but I find it difficult to recommend an activity that you can do back at home.

Explore the resort hotels. You can board the monorail and journey to the Grand Floridian, Contemporary and the Polynesian resorts.

On days with passing showers, keep on touring. When the crowds leave for the comfort of their resorts, you can enjoy the short lines. An area such as Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom works well as you can maneuver between It’s A Small World, Peter Pan and Mickey’s PhilharMagic pretty quickly.

Be prepared for the rain and you’ll be okay.
