Hi! we are going to WDW from December 5th - 13th for our honeymoon. staying in a pirate room at cbr. what are these rooms like and what can we expect as far as crowd levels?

    Robert:

I got the chance to see one of these rooms on a visit last December (almost the same date that you're going this year), and fell in love with them!  They're a little more in the adventurous column than romance, but if you enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean, you'll love the theming.

You are welcomed into the room with plank flooring--well, carpet with the design of wooden plank flooring!  Beds are made in the shape of boats and the dark wood theme is carried throughout the room.  There's even an etching of a ship on the walls in the shower!

FYI: Some of the best pictures of these rooms I've seen online are at www.allears.net.  Choose Blog Central at the top and then do a search for pirate room.  You'll be taken to a list of entries and choose "Caribbean Beach Resort Pirate Room" in a blog post by The World According to Jack in February of this year.

As for crowds, last year I thought they were quite moderate, even with the Pop Warner crowd, which will also be there for part of your stay this year, too.  Combined with the pleasant weather and Christmas decorations, the trip could not have been more delightful, and I would predict the same for the two of you!

    Wishing y'all a magical honeymoon!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
