We will be at WDW Dec 25, 2019-Jan 1, 2020. I have heard from multiple friends that there are lots of evening Extra Magic Hours during the holidays, but the calendar does show those yet. Will there be more added before it's time to book fast passes?

    Hi Jill!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hEAR you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the most magical and merriest time of the yEAR!

In 2017, my family spent our first Christmas at "The Most Magical Place on Earth." In previous years, we had frequently visited in the days leading up to Christmas, but we loved being able to wake up on Christmas morning two years ago at our favorite vacation destination. Over the years, I have found that the park hours are extended and Extra Magic Hours added during the days leading up to and following Christmas. For example, when we were initially planning our day at Magic Kingdom Park for Christmas Eve, the park was scheduled to open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m. On the day of our actual visit, the park opened at 7:00 a.m. and closed at midnight. We definitely took advantage of those extra hours in the park.

In 2017, I was able to book my FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance. At that time, the park hours had not been extended and the additional evening Extra Magic Hours had not been posted. However, operating hours are always subject to change and the timing for when those changes are released can vary from year to year. I would suggest that you keep checking the Park Hours calendar as your vacation draws closer, but keep it mind that you may not see the hours being extended until a little closer to your actual dates of travel.

I hope this information is helpful, Jill. Please stop by again with any new questions. We would love to assist you further in planning a magical and merry trip!
