WDW in 12 days! My mom will need to rent a scooter b/c of med reasons, how do we go about this? N is it true u get to the front of the lines if u use a scooter?just mom or everyone? I couldn't have planned my trip without this panel! THANK YOU SO MUCH:)

Hi, Patti!  Each of the Walt Disney World theme parks has a limited number of Electric Convenience Vehicles available to rent while you are in the theme park.  The rental locations are always in the front of the the theme parks, and if you don't see them immediately, you can just ask the nearest cast member to point you in the right direction.

The rental cost for the ECV is $50 per day.  You can find all the information you need regarding wheelchair and ECV rentals located HERE.

Using an ECV doesn't get you a front of the line pass, but if your mom has medical issues, she can go to guest services for a Guest Assistance Card.  Many guests bring a short note from their doctor, explaining the need for a card, but it isn't necessary.  You can explain to the cast members there what your mom's limitations are, and they can issue the card so that she can be best accommodated at the attractions.  In some cases, they can accommodate guests by giving them access to a Fast Pass line, so their wait is shorter, or they can allow her to wait for entrance to an attraction in an area that would not require her to stand in the line.

In most cases, wherever they send your mom, the guests in her party get to go with her.  I have seen in some instances where the number of guests that could accompany the person in the wheelchair or ECV has been limited to five additional guests, so if you have a larger party, you may want to ask the cast member at each individual attraction.

I hope you have a great vacation!
