We are going to WDW in just 10 days! My mom want to go to Typhoon Lagoon, but I am not sure about taking my 13 month there. I know they have a kiddie area but he is too little to let loose and there is a height restriction so I can't go with him. Any ideas

    Hi Marlena,

I've been to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach with toddlers who were just beginning to walk, and I can tell you that we had a great time!  Yes, I would think that your little one is too small to just let run around Ketchakiddie Creek, but parents are allowed to play in the area with their child.  I would think that your 13 month old is still a little unsteady on his feet, so you'll want to stay beside him.  Life jackets are available for use.  A PhotoPass photographer hangs around that area too, so you can get some cute photos of your little one splashing around in the fountains.

There are some larger slides for those children who are just on the fringe of being big enough to enjoy the rest of the water park, so your son won't be able to go on those.  There are also smaller slides that stand alone which you'll be able to help him up and down on - they're very similar to what you would find for small children on a playground, except with water added.

Also, you'll be able to take him for a spin down the lazy river.  My little one really enjoyed that, and it was a chance for me to relax as well.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
