Is WDW very crowded the week after Christmas? We will be traveling with a 3 year old and a 6 month old so we are trying to avoid big crowds for their sake but are traveling when vacation time is available. Any advice as to the best times to go?

Yes, Disney is quite crowded the week after Christmas. In fact, this is what is called a 'peak attendance' period, meaning one of, if not the busiest time of all to visit the parks. As a seasoned Disney vacationer, I would not recommend that you visit for the first time during this week.

Value season is what you want to look for if you'd like to avoid most of the crowds. This is generally January-mid February, September-Thanksgiving week, and the week after Thanksgiving until mid-December. Basically any time school is in session, the crowds will be smaller. Any time there is a school holiday, the parks will be busier.

My personal favorite time to visit is in the fall, late-September to early October, when we can enjoy Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Food & Wine Festival, as well as cooler temps and fewer crowds. Late January would be my second choice.

    Hope that helps!
