We are going to WDW the beginning of April. We are going for 3 days, 2 nights. We are debating between the Beach Club (a standard rm) vs. a Royal room at PO Riverside. We will have a car. Any recs on which one is better? 2 kids (7yo boy, 4yo girl).

Both would be great choices, Jennifer.  I've only seen photos of the new royal rooms, so I can't comment on them specifically.  That said, I can tell you that Port Orleans Riverside is a gorgeous resort with a great pool and plentiful recreational opportunities.  Of course, the pool at Beach Club is second-to-none.  Another perk of the Beach Club is that you are within walking distance of Epcot and the BoardWalk area.  Honestly, though, since your children are still quite young, I'd probably opt for Port Orleans Riverside.  Reason being that the princess factor won't always be such a draw for your young daughter; you might as well really wow her with that while you still can.  Like I said, though, you really can't go wrong with either.  Good luck deciding!
