    Teresa from ID Asked

Hi, We are going to WDW in August. I have heard mixed things about what to wear. Can you please give us some ideas of type of material to wear. I do not want something to stick to me. But we also do not want to go and purchase a bunch of clothes.

Hi Teresa! Oh yes August is a warm month to be in Florida but clothing shouldn't be that special then summer clothing elsewhere even in Idaho on a hot day. The biggest difference you will find is the humidity and that the heat stays with you day and night.

I would concentrate on light cotton materia and stay away from denims as they are heavier and can be hotter. With the occurrence of afternoon showers in the summer denim is also a hard material to dry out.  Keep the colors light as well and white is the best in the sun to reflect the heat off your body. A light wrap is only necessary for restaurants who crank their AC up. Light rain gear is good to bring or you can purchase one of the Disney ponchos.

Stay hydrated and don't rush.....just go and enjoy what you can and save the rest for the next trip!
