    Lindsay from WA Asked

Hi there! We are going to WDW in Aug. We already have Magic Bands from a previous trip. Inalready have Fast Passes selected on our old bands. My son just decided he wanted a new Magic Band. Will I need to redo Fast Pass selections for the new bands?

    Hi Lindsay,

No worries! Your FastPass+ reservations are tied to you individually, regardless of whether you are using an old or a new Magic Band, and you can have multiple active Magic Bands if you like. I've got one in each color, so I mix and match them according to my mood on each day of my visit.

I am assuming that you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort and entitled to free Magic Bands. If so, to get a new one for your son, simply sign into your My Disney Experience account and go to the Magic Bands and Cards section. You will see an opportunity to customize or decline new Magic Bands for each member of your party for your upcoming vacation. You usually need to finish customizing your bands about 30 days before your visit.

One note to consider: The newest Magic Bands are of a slightly thinner material than the originals and are a bit lighter and more comfortable, I think. So you might want to consider a new one for each member of your party.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Your next visit is just around the corner, so please let us know right away if we can help with anything else as you make your final plans. Enjoy!
