Going to WDW April 28, 2019 ...where can we meet StarWars characters?

Hi Sally, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Most of my favorite sentences involve the words “going to Walt Disney World” – hurray!

One of the things I love best about Walt Disney World is that this magical “world” actually contains many worlds, of today, tomorrow, and imagination…all the way to infinity and beyond. My family of Star Wars fans loves that we can jump into hyperspace and visit A Galaxy Far, Far Away on the same day we can see our favorite Toy Story pals in Andy’s backyard. Pure magic.

Currently, Star Wars characters are meeting Guests in the Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Right now, you can meet lovable droid BB-8, commander on the bridge Kylo Ren, and the Wookiee with the best hugs, Chewbacca, in that location. Storm Troopers are patrolling the area, and while they don’t formally meet guests, be ready for them to ask you a question or two. Character experiences are subject to change at any time, so by the time your trip rolls around, it’s possible that some new characters may have landed in the Launch Bay.

Sally, with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in late fall 2019, be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog as your visit gets closer, because some of this information may change as Star Wars characters make their plans to arrive in this new land. My favorite tool for locating characters is the My Disney Experience mobile app: just open the app, click on Characters from the drop-down at the top, and then tap the Mickey head icons on the map for all the details.

May the force be with you, and have a magical vacation,
    Robyn
