Going to WDW in 9/2011 with 6 adults and 2 2-year olds. I am very organized & would like to plan out every detail and be at the parks the second they open. My sister is the exact opposite. How can we compromise without having to split up in the park

    Hi Stephanie,

You need to have a conversation with your sister about what each of your expectations are for touring the parks. When my extended family travels to the Walt Disney World Resorts, we have a conversation around how much time we are expected to spend together, which meals will be eaten together and where we are touring. By having this conversation, feelings are not hurt and you can enjoy your vacation.

When I travel with extended family, we plan on what park we will be touring and the order. We then agree on the time to set out as well as where we are going to eat dinner. Our rule is that we eat dinner together every night together as a family. In general, we tour together prior to dinner and then some nights after dinner we split up.

Also, discuss what are the must sees in the parks. I do this with my children so it eliminates heartbreaks.

I would think character breakfasts may not work but a character lunch or dinner should be nice.

Finally, have fun! Planning is great especially in Disney but finding the little moments which just happen can great as well.

    Have a magical vacation!
