Mom And Son On Run

We are wavering between club level at either WL or GF for our stay in May. Due to discounts, price is comparable. Big draw to GF would be monorail access for convenience. Our son is 5, and this will be our first Disney trip. Any advice?

    HI Lisa!

What a great decision to have to make!

While both resorts are beautiful and have great amenities, our family absolutely prefers the Wilderness Lodge. For our family, the lodge fits much better. We really enjoy the large lobby, relaxed atmosphere, and all of the wonderful "hidden" areas that are spread throughout the resort. We enjoy finding a secluded spot near a fireplace to relax for a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the world.

The location of the Grand Floridian is wonderful, but we've also found that we enjoy the direct boat transportation from the Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom just as much as the monorail. The scenic ride is a wonderful way to enjoy the anticipation of arriving at the park!

The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a favorite restaurant of my son's with its pony races and high-energy antics. The incredible pool area has a slide that keeps both of my kids entertained for hours!

Whichever resort you choose, be sure to ask for a calendar of events at check-in time. This calendar will list the free and/or low-cost events happening at the resort each day. The Wilderness Lodge often has free cookie decorating and rubber ducky races!

I hope you enjoy your vacation! Enjoy!
