which waterpark would be more for nine year olds?

    Renae:

You'd probably get 30 different answers if you asked 30 folks, but our family has enjoyed season passes to the Water Parks and definitely casts our vote for Blizzard Beach. Although both Typhoon Lagoon and BB both offer lazy rivers, beach areas, a family slide and tube slides, we've found Blizzard Beach to inch it out, here's why:
    • Its family raft ride holds more and lasts longer than Typhoon Lagoon's.
    • The layout of BB is less confusing for first-time visitors, as the slides toward the back of Typhoon Lagoon are almost too difficult to find without a map.
    • The ski lift at BB is a ride unto itself and, although teens and tweens seem to have boundless energy, it helps us parents!
    • Ski Patrol Camp at Blizzard Beach sports several attractions just for the junior set. We usually head here first before taking on the bigger slides in the park to work out any nerves.
    • If you're a fan of miniature golf, Winter-Summerland sits right outside the gates and provides a fun ending to the day, especially if you're visiting during a time of year where the temps get cooler earlier in the afternoon.
My last thought: Typhoon Lagoon houses a unique wave pool. However, I don't suggest sending even a 9-year-old into the wave pool without an accompanying adult nearby. The area is crowded and the water rises significantly within a short amount of time. The bobbing waves in Blizzard Beach's pool provide plenty of sea fun. I'd leave the wave pool for a few years down the road.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
