are water parks open on rainy days?

Yes and no, Barbi.  It's not necessarily the rain that determines whether or not water park operations can carry on as usual; it's the lightning.  My family has visited the water parks many times and it has certainly rained on more than one occasion.  Only once, though, did we experience a closure due to weather.  Lightning distance is closely monitored and should it come into range, the powers that be make the call to shut things down.  If that should happen, an announcement is made and all attractions are closed immediately.  As long as it's just a wet day--and not a lightning storm--then you can count on water parks being open as usual.  I hope that helps.
