which of the 2 water parks is better with a 2 year old? It is my daughter and grandsons first visit this year

Hi Theresa! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We're so glad you're here!

Both of Disney's Water Parks are a splash-tacular good time! My family spends at least one day every year swimming and sliding at either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. We have young children, and have been visiting the water parks with them since they were babies, so I think I can give you some good insight into bringing your little mouseketeer.

While there is plenty to do at each park for little ones, we find that areas designated for the smallest swimmers are more spacious at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. Tike's Peak is a large area specifically for children under 48 inches, and is full of pint-sized water slides and aquatic activities. There are plenty of chairs and shade located around this polar-themed wonderland. There is even a sandy area around Tike's Peak perfect for building sand castles! After playing, float along with your tot in the relaxing Cross Country Creek. Bonus: this lazy river-style attraction features inner tubes specially designed to keep small children from falling through the middle!

If your little one is more adventurous (one of my children is), be sure to explore the entire list of water park attractions that do not have height requirements. My son was able to do some of the slides in Ski Patrol Training Camp with the aid of a life preserver when he was very small. Speaking of life vests, both water parks offer complimentary life jacket rentals that must be secured with a refundable deposit. You are also welcome to bring your own - we always bring the "puddle jumper" style that our children are comfortable wearing at home.

No matter which water park you choose to spend your day playing in, be sure to bring your appetite. The Disney Water Parks are home to some famous snacks! We like the Mini Donuts at Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park
and the Sand Pail Sundae at Happy Landings Ice Cream at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.

I hope that helps make your decision a little bit easier, Theresa. Fortunately, I don't think you can go wrong with either park - they are both so much fun. Be sure to check the Park Hours before your visit, as each Disney Water Park closes seasonally for enhancements.

    Just keep swimming!
    Betsy
