Hi Moms! my ? is which water park would be best for a 11 yrold girl that can't swim very well but loves water, also how much is it for a 1 day pass because can't afford the add on package? Thanks so much

    Ann:

I would recommend Blizzard Beach for several reasons:
    • The wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon can see waters rise from waist-deep to over-the-head very quickly after a tidal wave. I was a nervous wreck trying to keep up with my 10-year-old, not to mention my 5-year-old amidst not only the rising water but also a myriad of swimmers and "wave riders." If she's not a good swimmer, don't tempt her.
    • Blizzard Beach sports Ski Patrol Camp that features an iceberg walk, smaller slides and activities aimed for kids her age. My kids head here first every time we visit.
    • Although Typhoon Lagoon does have slides, Blizzard Beach has more--and more that I can do with my children, like the Toboggan Races.
    • Both have a lazy river and a family raft ride, but Blizzard Beach's raft ride is longer, plus there's a ski lift too--another ride in itself!
The cost for a single day admission to the water park including tax currently is $47.93 vs. $57.51 for the Water Parks & More Option to be added to your Disney Magic Your Way Ticket. Yes, you'll save $10 with a single day ticket, but the WPM option gives you equal visits to the water parks and DisneyQuest to the number of days on your ticket. The value can make it worth a second look.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
