    Sandra from FL Asked

How is the water filtered on Disney cruises? I am not picky about how water tastes but I do care about the way it’s filtered. Thanks a lot!

    Hi there, Sandra!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am so excited that you found us while resEARching Disney Cruise Line vacations!  If you haven’t yet set your cruise countdown on your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, go ahead and do so now…because before you know it you will be headed to sea for an adventure you won’t forget!

I love your question about the onboard water!  I, too, am particular about my water…but more so about the taste!  Disney Cruise Line uses a reverse osmosis process to filter the water for onboard use and the filtered water is safe for drinking and is available in the main dining rooms and at 24-hour drink stations.  If you prefer, bottled water is available for purchase and while food and beverages are always subject to change based on availability, there is typically both filtered and purified water to choose from.  On embarkation day you can purchase a water package that can be delivered to your stateroom and kept in your in-room beverage cooler or you can opt to bring bottled water onboard with you -  just make sure you don’t put it in your checked luggage but rather keep it with your carry-ons!

Disney Cruise Line has increased their efforts to help conserve the environment by switching to refillable toiletries in the staterooms as well as eliminating plastic lids and straws at the drink stations and the Port of Vancouver recently recognized Disney Cruise Line for these efforts.  I always recommend bringing a tumbler or refillable cup with you onboard to fill up…this will eliminate multiple trips back and forth to the drink station and help conserve waste!

Thank you for stopping by with your question and hopefully this information is helpful for you!  For further information, look for one of the informational videos on your stateroom television about the reverse osmosis process onboard...it's really interesting to learn all the ins and outs of how they keep these huge ships operating!

    Happy Sailing!
