    Andrea from MO Asked

We are wanting to travel in late May 2014 with my husband, myself, our two girls (4 and 2) and my parents. We live in Saint Louis, MO. Which would be the best cruise and port for us to travel?

Welcome aboard, Andrea! I'm so happy to hear that you're considering a Disney cruise for your family next spring!

Disney Cruise Line has four ships that travel all over the world, but the most popular port from which to sail is Port Canaveral, as it's just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Walt Disney World resort. In late May, the Wonder will be heading to the West Coast for Alaskan sailings, the Magic will be headed to Europe for Mediterranean sailings and the Dream and Fantasy will remain in Port Canaveral for some exciting Bahamian and Caribbean itineraries.

Play around with the booking page on Disney Cruise Line's website. There you can view the itineraries for the Fantasy (which will be doing 7-night sailings to either the Western or Eastern Caribbean) and the Dream (which will be offering 3 or 4-night Bahamian sailings). If you want to combine a trip to Walt Disney World with a shorter cruise on the Dream, Disney Cruise Line offers ground transportation between the airport, resorts and cruise terminal for a small fee, which makes your transition from land to sea and back again very easy! If you do visit the parks and set sail with Disney, I like to recommend the parks first, as they will wear you out! It's always nice to relax on the ship and enjoy more fun with Disney at sea after you've enjoyed the parks.

These sailings leaving from Port Canaveral will visit Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, which is my favorite beach in the world. The food and most non-alcoholic drinks are included on the island, as are many fun activities that can keep you busy all day! So, it's really a choice of how long you want to sail, Andrea. A longer cruise will put you on the Fantasy and a shorter cruise will have you sailing on the Dream. Both ships are beautiful and offer so much to do!

Let me know if I can help with anything else as you continue to plan, Andrea!
