    Tim Asked

We are wanting to do a Steampunk trip to WDW. If you are unaware of what steampunk is, just think of 19th century people from the Jules Verne books. And were wondering if clothes from the 1860s would be allowed in Disney World?

    Hiya Tim!

    Fantastic idea!

When you look around the internet you'll see lots of great photos of people in the Parks dressed in all their Gothic, Lolita and Victorian finery...just to name a few! I'm sure as we see Steampunk get more popular we will see it more often in Disney. This past year at  Dragon Con Steampunk was definitely the most popular genre!  Often, entire groups will get together for a trip to Disney World, because really, where else in the world is it more perfect than Disney to let your fantasy soar?

Be prepared for lots of Guests to want to take your picture!  Feel the spirit & know that you could totally make their Holiday perfect that day by being a fantastic Character straight out of a book!

As far as *I* know, the only costumes that Disney does not want coming in the Park are "Disney" costumes. In other words, it would be in poor taste for a girl to come to the Park wearing Cinderella's dress...Can you imagine how that would confuse all the little bitty Princess Guests??  Also, I found out this Hallowe'en that they do not want masks worn in the Park when my son tried to wear his Grim Reaper costume to the Hallowe'en Party. Whoops.

Have a jolly good time, Tim! If I see you in the Parks I'll be sure to wave & ask for a picture!
