    Lois from KY Asked

I wanted to know the average number of hours are spent at Animal Kingdom. I have researched the site and have chosen the attractions I would like to see, but was interested in specifics of the average stay.

Hi Lois! Wow, this is certainly a very difficult question to answer as there is not a right or wrong answer!

Most guests will have three FastPasses for their day at the Animal Kingdom Theme Park. That alone will take at least three hours to enjoy the choices. Guests who want to take time for a meal should budget anywhere from 45-60 minutes for that. So basically I am saying the least amount of time for a visit to the Animal Kingdom would be four hours.

Guests will usually want to enjoy more and depending on their interests and age of the family members they can easily spend another 2-3 hours exploring the different attractions. Rafikis Planet Watch is a wonderful off the beaten path area where you will need to hop on the train to get to it. Once there you will find a petting zoo, vet procedure room, and animal experts to show you unusual animals and answer your questions. Minimum time for a visit here is about 45 minutes but you can spend much more time if you wish to enjoy the character meet and greets.

My family enjoys going when the park opens and we hit our three FastPass+ and lunch before 1pm. In between the FastPass selections we squeeze in things such as the Trails or shopping or character meet and greets. If Rafiki's Planet Watch is on our schedule we will head there as well making our day in the Animal Kingdom about 6 hours. You can spend more time or less and now that there will be night time activities it is becoming a full day park visit.
