We wanted to go towards the end of October into November of 2018. Looking at the 27-29th Oct to around the 8-10th Nov. We were wondering 3 things. How bad is Jersey week, would we be able to get to the Christmas Festival, and does a water park close then?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jeremy!

How exciting that you are already dreaming up and planning a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort during a most magical time of the year! Your dates sound amazing since you will likely get to experience both the Spook-tastic Halloween and fall special events, then see the incredible transformation into the most wonderful time of the yEAR, Christmas!

Jeremy, this year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party ran through November 1st, and the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicked off November 9th. If my memory serves me right, this was a very similar schedule as what happened last year, so I would anticipate comparable schedules for 2018. Official schedules release about 6-months in advance, but I think your dates look really promising with what you are hoping to experience during your holiday-rrific visit!

As far as crowds, I usually refer to crowd calendars like the one at  undercovetourist.com. Crowd predictions are not a perfect science and they are indeed predictions. But I’ve planned park days using those online calendars and have had decent luck. Ultimately, with some smart planning, even a busy day the Walt Disney World Resort is better than any other day elsewhere! Just be sure to start planning early and book your FastPass+ and Advance Dining Reservations as early as your window opens so you can enjoy all the magical experiences you wish to!

During the cooler months in Florida, one of the water parks might be undergoing refurbishments. But one of the two will be open throughout the year, and during your dates.

I hope this information was helpful. For any additional planning tips, advice, or questions, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us!
