Hi Moms! I've been to Walt Disney World before but this is the first time travelling with a new intolerance to Gluten. I was wondering if you could recommend anywhere for quick snacks and whether or not I need to inform the hotel before. Many Thanks

    Hi Laura,

I also have several food allergies and intolerances, so I can give you so helpful tips about planning your Walt Disney World vacation to accommodate your diet.

Definitely make a notation on all of your Walt Disney World Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) that you have a gluten-intolerance. You can do this by indicated your allergy when booking your ADR through My Disney Experience or by informing the cast member when you call 407-WDW-DINE.

Most, if not all, of the Disney Table Service restaurants offer allergy-friendly menus and can accommodate a gluten allergy. When you are dining, make sure to ask for the allergy-friendly menu, and if it's a Table Service restaurant ask to speak with the chef. Many of the Quick Service restaurants also offer an allergy friendly menu or options.

You may also want to visit the Special Dietary Requests site prior to your trip to familiarize yourself with the resources available. If you have four or more allergies, you can email special.diets@DisneyWorld.com. However, if you only have one intolerance, that may not be necessary because you can find all the information you need for a gluten intolerance easily at Disney.

Some suggestions for allergy-friendly restaurants at Disney World are La Hacienda San Angel at Epcot (they have a great gluten-free menu, including pollo al pastor), Tony's Town Square Restaurant and Flying Fish. At Animal Kingdom there is also a special allergy-friendly snack stand and Harambe Fruit Market has a great selection of gluten-free items.

    Magically,
    Stacy
