We are going to Walt Disney World Dec. 19-Jan. 5th and are wondering what hotel is best for the holiday and small kids. Their ages are 7,4,2. We are looking at: 1. The contemporary Theme Park View, 2. Wilderness Lodge . 3. Port Orleans Riverside Royal Room

Hello, Samantha! You've picked three really great Disney Resort hotels for your upcoming vacation. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three, but they do each have special things to consider before you make your decision. For example, my personal favorite of the three based on theme alone is Disney's Port Orleans Riverside - Royal Guest Room. The children will love the whimsical decor in this Disney Resort hotel. Both Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge are beautiful as well, but the in-room theme is much more subtle than the Royal Guest Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge has a wonderful supervised children's activity center for guests ages 3-12. The children can enjoy an evening of fun and games at the Cub's Den, and you can enjoy a night out at the theme parks. If you think you may want some time to explore the more thrilling side of the theme parks, I'd suggest considering this option.

My personal favorite of all three that you have listed is Disney's Contemporary Resort. It's a quick walk from Magic Kingdom Park, which is really great for families with younger children, especially if the kids still need a midday nap. It is also located along the monorail line, which is a great perk because you may want to stop by the other monorail resorts to see the incredible gingerbread decorations during your holiday visit. Disney's Contemporary Resort is also the home to Chef Mickey's, a fantastic Character Dining location for children of all ages.

I'd highly suggest taking a peek at the Disney Resort hotel comparison tool to see the benefits of each property side-by-side. Your biggest considerations may be recreation, dining, and transportation options, and you can see all of that and more on this one useful page.
