visiting wdw 5/31 -6/7/09 traveling with hubby, and three kids,(9,14,18) (birthday celebration) found out 5/31 mk open to 12mid staying on site so would this be good for first day visit? is liberty tavern a good dinner spot w/characters ? or chef micky?

    Hi Lisa --

Going to Disney World is a great way to celebrate a birthday!

The extra magic hours are available to resort guests only.  As long as you are staying at a Disney Resort, spending your first day in the Magic Kingdom is a great option.  Click HERE to find out which attractions are open during the extended hours.

Liberty Tree Tavern has great food; however, they no longer have a character dining experience.  Chef Mickey's is a great, fun alternative.  If you're looking to stay inside the park, and your family likes Winnie the Pooh, you may want to consider Crystal Palace. They have a wonderful buffet, the character interaction is great, and the location is so convenient.
