We will be visiting WDW in September. Our son will be 2 when we arrive so I know he doesn't need park tickets. However he will turn 3 on 9/27 and we are attending MNSSHP on the 29th. Do we need to buy a ticket for the party for him?

Hi Christine! This can be a confusing issue when you are visiting Walt Disney World when your children have a birthday turning that magical number three.

The rule goes that Disney will recognize the age of your child when your vacation begins even if they have a birthday during that time. So for all purposes your child will be two during your stay. Of course that does not mean you can't pull out all the stops and celebrate Birthdays while you are there. Disney Floral and Gifts has many ideas to help your son find some extra magic on his special day.

I remember when my grandson celebrated a birthday and we had the floral magic makers come and decorate our room while we were in the parks. When he returned to find that Mickey had been there he was beyond excited. His favorite part of the decorations were the footprints left on the floor my Mickey. Enjoy this special time no matter what you do to celebrate!
