We will be visiting WDW in Oct 2009. Mickey's not so spooky halloween celebration does fall during our visit. I was wondering if it is sutiable for a 4 year old. Do you think he will enjoy it? Or will it be too over whelming for him?

    Hi Shira,

I have a four year old daughter who scares pretty easily.  She has always loved Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party.  She gets excited about dressing up and trick-or-treating.

However, we were there about 5 years ago with our friends and their 4 year old son.  The day was rather warm and the boy had a warm costume to wear.  He also didn't take a nap that day.  They went into the Magic Kingdom about an hour after the party started and it was pretty crowded.  He freaked out big time and they had to leave.

If you think your son may be overwhelmed by it, make sure you get there right when it starts.  It won't be as crowded and it will still be light out.  The day of the party, don't start the morning off too early if you can help it.  This would be the perfect day to sleep in a little.  You also may want to spend a little time at your resort unwinding before the party.

The event is not scary and is meant to be child friendly.  Guests aren't even allowed in if their costumes are extremely scary or violent.  Most children love running around among the trick-or-treating spots.  They is also shorter wait times for popular rides and many characters to meet and greet.  I believe if you plan well you will have a wonderful time.

    All the best
