Hi! We are visiting WDW in June 2008. (13 yr old boy & 6 yr old girl) staying at Port Orleans Riverside. What are the different views from the room?Do they have balconies? Can you see fireworks from room? Are the rooms quiet to promote a good night's s

Great resort choice; it's my favorite moderate!  There are two types of views at Port Orleans Riverside: standard or water view.  The water view rooms offer views of either the Sassagoula River or a pool.  There are no private balconies here.  Windows overlook public outdoor walkways, and beyond that many of the standard view rooms offer a view of either a lush garden area or a parking lot.  Fireworks are not viewable from the rooms, or the resort in general.  As for the noise level, we didn't have any problems during our stay, though our room was not particularly close to a pool where much of the noise is generated.

If indoor entrances, private balconies and fireworks views are important to your family, you might consider a stay in one of Disney's deluxe resorts.  Typically, the deluxe resorts offer more of those types of amenities.  On the other hand, if you are happy without those things, then rest assured that Disney's Port Orleans Riverside is a gorgeous place.  In my opinion, it offers the most bang for your moderate buck!  Hope that helps!
