We are visiting WDW in January. Are the pools usually open? Is it warm enough to go swimming?

    Hi Lisa,

Aside from inclement weather, the heated pools at Walt Disney World stay open year-round; and you'll see guests swimming in them regardless of the temperatures.  We've had winter visits where we were bundled up and wouldn't have thought about swimming and others where we comfortable in shorts and enjoyed afternoon breaks in the pool. If I were in your position, I'd start to follow the weather forecast prior to your visit (I usually look at www.weather.com) & then make a decision if you think the temperatures look inviting enough to take a dip.  And since swimsuits don't take up a huge amount of space, maybe it will be worth packing them just in case.

PS While Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for refurbishment in January 2012, Blizzard Beach is open!
