We are visiting WDW the first weekend in December and from what I've heard this may be the weekend that they film the Christmas special? What effect will that have on our visit? Do they close down certain areas or do anything special during the filming?

    Hi Mary,

Walt Disney World at the beginning of December is such a great time to visit as the crowds are low and the magic is on overload. I love the wonderful feeling that is in the air!

Magic Kingdom is generally the only park that is impacted by the taping of the parade. Generally, the area in front of Cinderella Castle is where the performers will play. In addition, there may be an auxiliary stage set up. Main Street for the parade will be extra crowded as everyone will want to be on television.

Otherwise, the rest of Magic Kingdom and the other parks will not see much of an impact.

As always, make your FastPass+ reservations and Advance Dining Reservations so you reduce your wait times.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
