    Joanne Asked

We are visiting Wdw for the first time in 8 weeks. We are staying on resort and have a Disney dining plan. We are trying to budget for other expenses & wonder how much we will need for tips per day for housekeeping, table service meals etc. Thanks.

Oh my goodness Joanne, I can just imagine how excited you must be feeling about your rapidly approaching 1st ever trip to Walt Disney World Resort; I love it when my own countdown to Disney gets into the lower digits!
It certainly sounds like you've already planned well by choosing to stay right in the heart of the magic in a Walt Disney World owned and run Resort and by opting to use the 2015 Disney Dining Plan; I expect you've already made Advanced Dining Reservations at some great Table Service restaurants or for Character Meals via My Disney Experience.
I think Scrooge McDuck would be very pleased with your pre-trip budgeting skills! My family usually allows 15-20% as gratuity at Table Service restaurants plus remembering that parties of 6 or more Guests are charged an automatic 18% gratuity.
For Mousekeeping as we like to refer to it; I usually allow $2 per Guest, per night of stay and I leave this tip on a daily basis and not at the end of our stay, plus some Guests like to leave little Disney themed thank you notes for their Mousekeepers too.
Magical Express Drivers, Baggage Handlers, Valet Parking or Bell Services Cast Members can be tipped around $1. per bag.
Should you hire a Taxi Cab, I would allow around a 10-15% tip for drivers.
If you purchase adult beverages at one of the many fabulous lounge bars or nighttime entertainment spots at Walt Disney World Resort, Bar Tenders can be tipped around $1 per drink.
Remember a gratuity is not required at Counter Service restaurants and a good rule of thumb is to use your good common sense and not to worry as you'll soon get the hang of it!
