Will be visiting WDW for the first time and considering the Backstage Magic tour! Is it value for money and what exactly do you see? What is the duration?

    Hi Chris!

I think Backstage Magic is fabulous and worth every penny!  It is about 7 hours long and includes a peek behind the scenes at three or four theme parks.  It also includes lunch.  When I did the tour, we stated off in Epcot, then went to Disney's Hollywood Studios, then went to lunch at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge.  Afterward we went backstage to see some maintenance areas, the laundry facilities, the paint shop, and the wood shop.  Then we went into the Magic Kingdom and went down to visit the Utilidoors.  Our tour ended in the Magic Kingdom.

In Epcot we went backstage and saw how the show in the American Adventure Pavilion is performed.  We then went backstage and saw the costume check-out and check-in department there as well as some Cast Member lockers. In Disney's Hollywood Studios, we got to look underneath a Tower of Terror ride vehicle and learned how that attraction works.  We also got to see the costume shop where costumes are made.  My favorite part of the tour is when we went backstage behind the Magic Kingdom and visited the wood shop and the maintenance area.  I also liked seeing how Disney handles loads of laundry semi-automatically.  However, most guests love visiting the Utilidoors underneath the Magic Kingdom the best.  Besides just going down there, we also got a guided tour.

The Backstage Magic tour is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it.  Please write back if you have any more questions!
