We are visiting WDW with another family who has a separate reservation as us as we are arriving one day apart and departing one day apart. How will this affect our Memory Maker, if any? Will the family departing a day later be able to use it that day?

    Cindy:

Your arrival and departure will not affect the Memory Maker. Memory Maker is simply the ability to access unlimited downloads of any pictures that are in your Disney Photo Pass account for one price and for a set number of days.

For example, you arrive and go to Magic Kingdom. At the gate, you get your picture taken with a Disney Photo Pass Photographer in front of the iconic flower landscape of Mickey's head, and you load it to your Magic Band or a Photo Pass Card. You then ride Space Mountain and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Within hours, you can visit the Photo Pass link under your My Disney Experience account at www.disneyworld.com and see the picture the photographer made PLUS an action shot of you on Space Mountain along with both a picture and video from the mine train.

Because Memory Maker only allows you to download from your Photo Pass account for 30 days from the first download, you may decide not to begin downloading any pictures until AFTER your trip. I did this last year because I wanted to make a scrapbook and needed as much time as possible. However, if you want to share photos on social media, you may decide to begin using it while you're in the parks.

TIP: Your photos have a 45-day expiration policy, so even if you wait to use Memory Maker when you get home, time is ticking. Additionally, if you and your friends want to share the Memory Maker entitlement, you'll need to link your reservations. I would caution you on this as you'll see all of their photos and vice versa. If you have any more questions on the Memory Maker, feel free to come back and ask!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
