We are visiting this September. Having trouble deciding which water park to visit. My daughter is 10 loves the water, going down water slides but is not a strong swimmer. Can you recommend one for us. Thanks,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Anna!

Hooray for a Splash-TASTIC time at Disney’s world-class water parks! I hope your day is filled with sun, fun, and yummy Disney treats. I highly recommend the mini-donuts or the Sand Pail ice cream Sunday! YUM!

Anna, this is a tricky question to answer because both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach are amazing in their own right! If you ask my tween-aged son, he’ll rave about Disney’s Blizzard Beach because he feels this park has more of the bigger thrill attractions like Summit Plummet and the Downhill Double Dipper. But there is plenty of family fun to enjoy here, like my favorite family raft ride, Teamboat Springs. Oh, and remember those tasty mini-donuts? Disney’s Blizzard Beach is where you can get your fill!

I personally prefer Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. The Crush ‘n’ Gusher, where two can ride together is a total blast! And with the recent addition of Miss Adventure Falls, the longest water slide in Disney’s Water Park history, this park is a great choice too!

Anna, as far as being a good swimmer, you’ll find that most of the pools where the slides end are not very deep and that your young mousketeer will probably feel confident enjoying most of the attractions there if not all. There are also complimentary life jackets in various sizes located throughout the park so she can feel safe as she enjoys all the aquatic fun to be had!

I hope this information helps as you plan for your adventure-filled day in the water! Be sure to remember your sunscreen and see ya real soon!
