Visiting in sept 2016. My husband is an army vet with PTSD. What accommodations are available for him? Also, can we use the dining plan with our armed forces salute tickets? We are planning to stay at art of animation. Thank you

    Hi Rachael,
First, a big thank you to your husband and you for your service. Regarding your husband's PTSD, I recommend visiting Guest Relations upon arrival to your first theme park during your visit. You may decide that a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card would be a good choice for you to decrease your wait times, especially if your husband is bothered by crowds or cramped spaces.

Additionally, you may consider reviewing this guide for guests with cognitive disabilities (printed copies are available at Guest Relations). While this guide is intended for those with issues such as autism, you may find the sections in the back of the guide helpful, especially if your husband has sensory issues from his PTSD. This guide can assist you in identifying which attractions have what sensory experiences such as loud noises or flashing lights. This may help you either prepare for those things in advance or avoid those attractions altogether.

I'm also happy to tell you that yes, you can add the dining plan to your Art of Animation stay. You must do this one the phone, as you cannot do this online. Call and ask a Cast Member to add the dining plan to your ticketless package and they will be happy to assist you.

Rachael, I hope you and your family have a fantastic time visiting the Walt Disney World Resort! Please come back and see us if you have any additional questions.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
