We are visiting the park in April and our daughter turns three in May. Do I need to bring a copy of her birth certificate to prove she won’t need a ticket?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Nicole!

What an exciting pre-birthday trip you have planned to the Happiest Place on Earth! I can’t wait for you to experience the magic of the Disneyland Resort with your little Mouseketeer! Mickey and his fellow Cast Members tend to work on the honor system when it comes to the ages of our young Guests. So, Cast Members don’t usually ask for proof of age for children, other than a theme-park ticket for a child age three or older. I have heard of circumstances where parents of especially tall youngsters have brought copies of birth certificates just in case they were questioned.

As my first child approached the age of three, I was often asked by Cast Members how old he was at the Main Entrance turnstiles. I always responded with his actual birthdate, and never had a problem requiring any additional proof. But, if it would make you feel better knowing you have it, I’d recommend bringing a copy with you and keeping it in a safe place.

Once inside the parks, you’re going to want to get acquainted with the Baby Care Centers. There’s one at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., inside Disneyland Park, and one on Pacific Wharf in Disney California Adventure Park. There, you’ll find a comfy spot to feed, change, or simply take a break. If you’re potty training, your little one will love the tiny toilets they have at each location.

Lastly, I recommend downloading the Disneyland app in order to utilize Disney MaxPass and Disney PhotoPass. You can even order food and drinks without waiting in line, thanks to the Mobile Ordering service.

Wishing you a magical Disney adventure!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
