I will be visiting in October with my 2.5 year old. We plan to purchase the dining plan-since I won't be purchasing a ticket for her, how does she eat? Does she get to choose from the child's menu?

    Hi Melissa,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I have been bringing my daughter to Walt Disney World Resort since she was a year old and have used the dining plan every time so I have plenty of experience in this area.

Because your daughter is under 3 years old, you will not be required to purchase theme park tickets or a dining plan for her.  When it is time for your family to dine, depending on the type of restaurant you will have a few options.  At a buffet or family style restaurant she will be able to get a plate and choose whatever she would like.  If you are dining at restaurant with an A la carte option, your daughter will be required to share someone else's meal.  If that is not an option, you are able to purchase a meal for your daughter at an additional cost.  I have found that the children's options are quite reasonably priced, and this allows myself to have something a little more adventurous for dinner.

I hope you have a magical vacation at Walt Disney World Resort in October Melissa.  If you have any other questions while planning, please let me know.  I would be happy to help!
