I am visiting next January with my husband and two daughters ages 11 and 12. Is is feasible for us to do both the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom in one day? If so, would you recommend a certain schedule?

    Hi Kendall,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am sure the excitement must be spreading in your house as you get closer to your vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort!

When making your decision, I suggest that you consider the park hours for each park on the day you want to visit. Based on those hours, it looks like Magic Kingdom theme park is open later than Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park. If that remains the case, I suggest you go to Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park first then to Magic Kingdom. You can definitely do them both in one day.

I would recommend that you get to Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park prior to park opening if you want to beat the crowds waiting for Avatar Flight of Passage. If you purchase your tickets at least 30 days in advance, you can potentially make a Fast Pass+ selection for Avatar Flight of Passage. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can make your Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance. With Fast Pass+, you can reserve ride times for up to three rides at one park per day. If you park hop from one park to another, you must use those first initial Fast Pass+ selections (or the ride time window needs to expire) prior to making a Fast Pass+ selection for the second park.

We like to do our first three Fast Pass+ selections in the morning. At Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, we would first do Avatar Flight of Passage, then Kilimanjaro Safaris and then Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. When you get to Magic Kingdom, I would use the My Disney Mobile App to see which rides or attractions have the shortest ride wait time.

Kendall, I hope this was helpful!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
