We'll be visiting MK at the end of the month with a 6,5,4+1 year old. I have FP reservations and a lunch res. Are there helpful tips that you suggest for us to maximize our time there without feeling overwhelmed? We're staying off-site.

    Dear Catherine,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about planning out your day!

It sounds like you're off to an excellent start with having already booked your FastPass+ selections and a lunch reservation!

With four young children, I am going to go ahead and assume that your day gets started pretty early! That being said, one of my most simple but effective pieces of advice is to get up and get out early! You would be surprised at how the crowds can start out pretty small and then build as the day goes on. So, plan to arrive at the Magic Kingdom parking lot around 90 minutes before park opening if you can, and that will get you through security and onto Main Street, U.S.A., by an hour or so before opening. You can grab a bite to eat and make your way towards Cinderella Castle for the opening show. That first hour after opening, you will be able to squeeze in an attraction or two before people really start to gather.

Then, spend those important morning hours while your kids have a lot of energy to do as much as you can. By lunchtime, everyone will need a break, so it's great that you have a lunch reservation made.

After lunch, you might consider heading back to your hotel for a break, and then returning in the evening for the fireworks and evening activities. Alternatively, if the kids are still full of energy, you can continue to make additional FastPass+ selections one at a time as you go through the day.

For that age of kids, the best advice really is to arrive early, rest often (ice cream?), hydrate well (free water cups available at all Quick-Service locations!), and to be sure that you have a stroller (or in your case at least two!) ready at all times for naps!

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
