We will be visiting Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios in Feb 2015. Our kids are 12 , 9 , 7, 5, and our twins will be 18 moths at the time of travel. We are staying at Pop Century. Any suggestions?

    Hi Sandra,

Congratulations on your upcoming BIG Walt Disney World vacation! I have 4 children myself and love to help others with their vacation planning. I will list some of my favorite tips below, however if you would like to write back and ask any specific questions for tips in a certain category (such as dining, etc...) we would be happy to give you even more suggestions!

My top tips for your family:

    • Request connecting (not adjoining) hotel rooms and consider paying for preferred rooms in order to be closest to the food court and transportation.
    • Bring strollers from home or rent from a vendor that will deliver to your hotel. It is so much easier pushing children back to your room after a long day when they are asleep. For some reason a sleeping child doubles in weight!
    • Bring soft-sided coolers with cold drinks and snacks into the theme parks with you.
    • Purchase Memory Maker in advance to save $50!
    • Learn about Rider Switch Service and use it at height-restricted attractions.
    • Arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios early and sign your 5 through 12 year old up for Jedi Training Academy.
    • Encourage the whole family to attend shows like Enchanted Tales with Belle in Magic Kingdom together. Sometimes older children avoid these types of attractions, but they are truly magical for all ages.
    • Arrive at each theme park's opening to enjoy the most popular attractions while the crowds are lower and make FastPass+ selections for later in the day when it is busier.
    • Take an afternoon break.
    • Plan as much as you can prior to your vacation, then sit back and be open to spontaneity.

    Have a Magical Day,
