Visiting 2/2018 with DH, me and girls (8 & 2). Can DH and I get 3 different FP each and use the Rider Swap so that we can move through rides faster? If my 8yo got 3 FP to match one of ours, couldn't she ride the other 3 once w/Swap and her 3 twice?

Welcome Back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alison! I think you’re going to have a brilliant trip with your small family! I have a very similar family structure to yours, with a small preschooler (who isn’t quite old enough or tall enough to tackle many attractions) and an eager grade schooler who loves thrills.

When my family is preparing FP+ reservations for our trip, we always make them for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I will make two FP+ (for my husband and son) and before they enter the FP+ line, our whole family asks for a Rider Switch Pass. My son and husband will use their FP+ reservations and after zooming through the diamond caverns meet up with us in the Hundred Acre GOODS shop. I then take the Rider Swap Pass and my son to ride again. The chaperone who initially waited with the under-height kids is allowed to take a buddy to ride with, and since they have the Rider Swap pass, do not need a pre-arranged FP+. The Rider Swap pass entitles them to use the quicker queue. Now, as to your question about scheduling your 8 year old’s FP+, if your DH and daughter want to ride together, they will both need a FP+. Otherwise, he will end up riding alone and you with her secondarily.

I make my son’s FP+ to match his Dad’s and I get to ride with him after the Switch - which means he gets to dig, dig, dig with the Dwarfs twice that day! You can imagine what a grin he gets as we board the mine carts. If there is anything else I can do to help you plan, please ask another question! ~ Lindsey P.
