We are visiting the first week of December and not planning to attend MVMC. Can we still see the parade, see the fireworks and ride the rides when it is going on?

Hi Joe! The Magic Kingdom special event parties such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and MIckey's Not So Scary Halloween Party include special parades and fireworks that can only be seen during that party. Guests who do not have a special event ticket will be asked to leave the park at 7pm the night of the party. The cast members will watch for those guests who have the wristbands and guide those that don't to the exits. So even if you are not wanting to ride the attractions you also cannot just stand on Main Street and watch the parade and fireworks.

Once you leave the park you can find spots around the resort loop of the monorail to catch a glimpse of the fireworks that evening. Of course there is nothing like watching them up close in the park so if you can consider attending the party instead.
