We'll be visiting for the first time and are bringing 3 kids ages 7, 6, and 3. Our 3-year old will not be tall enough for some rides. Can we use rider swap for both a parent and child swap or can 1 parent ride with 2 kids? How does this work with FP+?

    Hi Lisa!

Disney certainly understands family travel better then anyone else. Making sure every family member is happy and satisfied is their number one goal.

The Disney Rider Switch plan works well for the groups that have one or more children who are too young or cannot meet the height requirements for that attraction. If your older children can ride but your youngest cannot then you can have your husband and one child ride the attraction. They will then meet with you, give you the Rider Switch card and you and the other child can go enjoy the ride without waiting in the long line. Before you enter the line connect with a cast member so they can give you a Rider Switch card.

You will find a list of the Rider Switch attractions on the page noted above. Most of these are set up for two persons per vehicle.

It can get confusing when talking about the FastPass and Rider Switch. Ultimately the first adult and child riding the ride will need a FastPass. They will proceed through the lines and experience the attraction. When they return to the second adult and child they will simply use the Rider Switch card which is like their FastPass. Once you have done this the first time it will be easier for you to understand and do over and over again.

    Enjoy your magical Disney vacation!
