Visiting Feb 7th-12th, 2015. Planing park days Su, Mo & We. We won 1-day hopper tix at a fundraiser (cant upgrade). Would like to use hopper to visit 1 park for part of a day and then finish day at MK. Which is best for half day? AK or HS? 3 kids: 4, 8

    Hi Jennifer,

Congratulations on your big win!  That is one fantastic fundraiser prize.

Picking one theme park over another one is very difficult since each one is so great.  Personally I would first ask my family which one appealed to them the most and go with that one if the choice was an overwhelming majority.  If not, then another strategy I like to employ when choosing which theme park to visit on a particular day is to check out the estimated crowd calendars and park recommendations from touringplans.com.  This website is not affiliated with the Disney corporation but does a good job with its park recommendations.

However since you did ask my opinion... For my family I would choose Hollywood Studios for the morning if we were visiting the Magic Kingdom in the afternoon.  The reasoning for this choice is because my family generally does less walking in Hollywood Studios, and if you are planning on staying in the theme parks for the entire day this will help you keep your legs fresh and your energy stores high. In order for my family to enjoy our vacation to the fullest it is important for me not to overtire them.

Jennifer no matter which one you choose, honestly you can't go wrong.  My children love both Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom for completely different reasons.  You will have an amazing vacation whichever theme park(s) you decide to visit.
