Hi there! We are visiting end of September and are staying at a property off outside of the resorts. I already purchased our park passes, do I need to be purchasing Magic Bands as well? If so, when and how do I link them? Thank you!

Hello Kristi, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.

I am so excited to hear that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort next month. You do not need to purchase MagicBands for everyone in your travel party, but it would definitely make your trip much easier if you had them. Hopefully, you already have your theme park tickets linked to your My Disney Experience accounts for everyone. This will allow you to make FastPass+ selections 30 days before your arrival.

MagicBands allow you to access your admission tickets, redeem your FastPass+ experiences and add photos taken by Disney’s PhotoPass Photographers to your Memory Maker if you purchased one. You can purchase MagicBands online, using the Shop Disney Parks Mobile app or when you arrive from select gift shops at Disney Theme Parks or Disney Springs.

To link a MagicBand to your My Disney Experience account, sign in online or in the My Disney Experience Mobile App and click on MagicBands and Cards. Select Link a MagicBand and then enter the ID number on the back of your MagicBand just behind Mickey’s head. Once you link a purchased MagicBand to your account, it cannot be linked to another account. You can repeat this process for each MagicBand you purchase. MagicBands are much easier than trying to get to your admission card when you need to access it rather quickly. I know you will have a wonderful trip and if there is anything else we can help you with before you arrive, please come back and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
    Andrea
